2017-2018 Meal Plans

Housing Meal Plans (2017-2018) 

The following meal plans are for our residential students. For information on housing and meal plans, please click here.

DIAMOND PLAN: 325 Block, 100 Flex $2,025.00 per semester

  • On this plan, a resident may enter the dining room for any meal of their choice up to 325 meals per semester. Each entrance deducts one meal from their plan. It is designed for the student who eats 19 meals a week in our Dining Commons. In addition to the blocks you will have $100.00 in Flex Dollars that may be used in any of the Campus Dining locations (Monte's, Starbucks, Otter Express, and the Library Cafe).

PLATINUM PLUS PLAN: 200 Block, 300 Flex $1,875.00 per semester

  • On this plan, a resident may enter the dining room for any meal of their choice up to 200 meals per semester. Each entrance deducts one meal from their plan. It is designed for the student who eats 11-12 meals a week in our Dining Commons. In addition to the blocks you will have $300.00 in Flex Dollars that may be used in any of the Campus Dining locations (Monte's, Starbucks, Otter Express, and the Library Cafe).

PLATINUM PLAN: 200 Block, 100 Flex $1,675.00 per semester

  • On this plan, a resident may enter the dining room for any meal of their choice up to 200 meals per semester. Each entrance deducts one meal from their plan. It is designed for the student who eats 11-12 meals a week in our Dining Commons. In addition to the blocks you will have $100.00 in Flex Dollars that may be used in any of the Campus Dining locations (Monte's, Starbucks, Otter Express, and the Library Cafe).

GOLD PLUS PLAN: 160 Block, 350 Flex $1,850.00 per semester

  • This plan allows the resident to use the dining room for any meal of their choice up to 160 meals per semester. Each entrance deducts one meal from their plan. It is designed for the student who generally remains on campus throughout the year, or for those who eat 9-10 meals per week in our Dining Commons. In addition to the blocks you will have $350.00 in Flex Dollars that may be used in any of the Campus Dining locations (Monte's, Starbucks, Otter Express, and the Library Cafe).

GOLD PLAN: 160 Block, 150 Flex $1,650.00 per semester

  • This plan allows the resident to use the dining room for any meal of their choice up to 160 meals per semester. Each entrance deducts one meal from their plan. It is designed for the student who generally remains on campus throughout the year, or for those who eat 9-10 meals per week in our Dining Commons. In addition to the blocks you will have $150.00 in Flex Dollars that may be used in any of the Campus Dining locations (Monte's, Starbucks, Otter Express, and the Library Cafe).

SILVER PLUS PLAN: 120 Block, 500 Flex $1,800.00 per semester

  • On this plan, a resident may enter the dining room for any meal of their choice up to 120 meals per semester. Each entrance deducts one meal from their plan. It is designed for the student who eats an average of 7-8 meals a week in the Dining Commons. In addition to the blocks you will have $500.00 in Flex Dollars that may be used in any of the Campus Dining locations (Monte's, Starbucks, Otter Express, and Library Cafe).
SILVER PLAN: 120 Block, 300 Flex - $1600.00 per semester 
  • On this plan, a resident may enter the dining room for any meal of their choice up to 120 meals per semester. Each entrance deducts one meal from their plan. It is designed for the student who eats an average of 7-8 meals a week in the Dining Commons. In addition to the blocks you will have $300.00 in Flex Dollars that may be used in any of the Campus Dining locations (Monte's, Starbucks, Otter Express, and Library Cafe).

To purchase a Housing Meal Plan contact the Student Housing and Life Office. If you need to select a meal plan as part of your on-campus housing, you will be prompted to select an option when you fill out your housing application. If you would like to make a change to the meal plan you already have selected, contact Student Housing & Residential Life at StudentHousing@csumb.edu or cal (831) 582-3378.

AQUA PLAN $825 per purchase

  • 110 all-you-care-to-eat meals in the Dining Commons 
  • $150 flex-cash to spend as you wish in any of our campus dining locations

WHITE PLAN $520 per purchase

  • For the guest who knows what a value this is and spends most of their day on campus. 
  • 65 all-you-care-to-eat meals in the Dining Commons   

GREEN PLAN $340 per purchase

  • For the guest who knows what a value this is and spends most of their day on campus. 
  • 40 all-you-care-to-eat meals in the Dining Commons 
  • $75 flex-cash to be used in any of our campus dining locations

PLAN 1 MEAL PLAN: 7 DAYS UNLIMITED $2,100 per semester

  • Provides unrestricted/nontransferable access into the Dining Commons AYCE during the semester
  • $125 in Flex Money per semester
  • No meal equivalency allowed on this meal plan in campus retail locations
  • Available to all students 

PLAN 2 MEAL PLAN: 5 DAY UNLIMITED $2,100 per semester

  • Provides unrestricted/nontransferable access into the Dining Commons AYCE Monday through Friday during the semester
  • $325 in Flex Money per semester
  • No meal equivalency allowed on this meal plan in campus retail locations
  • Available to all students 

PLAN 3 MEAL PLAN: BLOCK 215/500 FLEX $2,100 per semester

  • Provides 215 meals in the Dining Commons during the semester
  • $500 in Flex Money per semester
  • Meal Block equivalency may be used at all campus retail operations at an equivalency rate of $5.00
  • Use of meal plan blocks for meal equivalency is limited to three (3) per MEAL PERIOD.
  • Available to all students 

PLAN 4 MEAL PLAN: BLOCK 150/325 FLEX $1,650 per semester

  • Provides 150 meals in the Dining Commons during the semester
  • $325 in Flex Money per semester
  • Meal Block equivalency may be used at all campus retail operations at an equivalency rate of $5.00
  • Use of meal plan blocks for meal equivalency is limited to three (3) per MEAL PERIOD.
  • Available to all non-freshmen living on-campus and any freshmen approved to live off-campus

PLAN 5 MEAL PLAN: BLOCK 120/525 FLEX $1,650 per semester

  • Provides 120 meals in the Dining Commons during the semester 
  • $525 in Flex Money per semester
  • Meal Block equivalency may be used at all campus retail operations at an equivalency rate of $5.00
  • Use of meal plan blocks for meal equivalency is limited to three (3) per MEAL PERIOD.
  • Available to all non-freshmen living on-campus and any freshmen approved to live off-campus

Additional information: 

  • Each student that purchases a meal plan will be provided for five (5) Dining Commons guest passes per semester. Guest passes are in addition to the specific plan's unlimited Dining Commons access or the specific meal blocks. 
  • For the Block/Flex plans, unused meals will roll over from fall to spring semester, but all meals will expire at the end of the spring semester.
  • Unused Flex Money will roll over from fall to spring semester, but all meals will expire at the end of the spring semester.
  • Students do not pay sales tax with Flex Money in any campus dining location.

Dining Policies

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet this goal, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures:

  • Please bus your dishes and disposables from your table when you have finished dining
  • Please refrain from taking food, dishes or utensils from the dining area.
  • Remember that meal cards are non-transferable. Meal cards cannot be used by anyone but the purchaser.

Seconds Policy

You never have to be too shy to ask for seconds with our Campus Dining Program. Our generous policy allows for a second helping of many menu favorites. All you have to do is ask! Please note, however, that are a some exceptions to our Seconds Policy.
